Lviv after sunset (walking tour)

It will be difficult for you to descry the attributes of the modern world from the top, so you will feel yourself like being in the medieval city. After a few minutes of walking you will get to downtown Lviv. The Opera House crowned by the statue of Glory, artistically lighted up building of town Hall, the Dominican and Bernandine Cathedrals on a background of the night sky produce quite another impression. We will walk through different places hiding the great number of legends and stories. Among them houses on the Market sq., Latin Cathedral, Armenian Cathedral court with ancient graves inside. Tour to Castles (bus tour)

During the bus tour you’ll get to know closer with the basic fortification buildings of the Lviv region, and three majestic castles will tell you their unique stories.

Olesko Castle

More than six centuries passed since Olesko castle was build. The first mention about castle was dated in 1327. Castle represents classic baroque complex whith the ancient church in the center. The corps of monastery with the cells and courtyard joins castle from south. There are an ancient park and pond, and also a few tombstones and ancient sculptures in a monastery courtyard.

Pidhirtsi Castle

Pidhirtsi castle is the well saved palace of Renaissance period. From every quarter he is surrounded by defensive building. The interiors of Pidhirtsi palace with their beauty and luxury inspire contemporaries, its halls and cabinets carried the names that was fully corresponded to them (Chinese, Gold, Knight's, Green, Mirror, Tesselated, etc.).

A local park is the monument of park and garden art of the state value. It was built to the best standards of the Italian parks, and there is no similar park in Ukraine.

Zolochiv Castle

The first mention in documents about the castle was in 1532, because of changing the proprietors. Back than Stanislaw Seninski who owned the whole city, sold the palace to the count Hurkov. Two palaces are located on the castle territory, there are open for a visit and called Chinese palace and two-story palace built in Revival style.

The special pride of Zolochiv castle is its sewage system which was an innovation back then.

Not less interesting are the stones in the yard. Surface is covered by enigmatic inscriptions and pictures. In obedience to one of the hypotheses, stones are part of code, indicative the place of treasures storage of Templars.
